Chelsea Yacht Club is located on the Mystic River in Chelsea, Massachusetts and was established in 1886. Unique by nature, the house -like structure was built below the Maurice J. Tobin Memorial Bridge. Supported by a series of pilings, the Yacht Club is free standing, and has a roughly fifty- foot boardwalk which connects it to land. In the clubs older days, the building was only accessible by boat, and the men would have to climb a ladder to reach a hole in the middle of the first floor to enter the club. Chelsea Yacht Club continues to operate to this day, and its members are exclusive to the clubs history and early genealogy.
